The SGA is the largest branch of the internal iliac artery, originating from its posterior division.

The arterial supply of the gluteal region is primarily provided by two major vessels: the (SGA) and the inferior gluteal artery (IGA), both of which are branches of the internal iliac artery. 1. Superior Gluteal Artery (SGA)
