Foxter & Max Napisy Polskie -
The 2019 film Foxter & Max (originally titled Foksztrot i Maks) is a Polish sci-fi adventure that explores the intersection of childhood imagination and advanced technology. Directed by Anatoliy Mateshko, the film follows Max, an artistic and lonely twelve-year-old boy who discovers a canister of mysterious "nano-paints." After sketching a dog on a wall, the graffiti transforms into a high-tech robotic dog named Foxter, possessing extraordinary powers including invisibility and super-speed.
The film's reception highlights its role as a significant entry in contemporary Eastern European family cinema. By blending practical themes of friendship and bravery with impressive visual effects, it offers a story that resonates across cultural boundaries. For international audiences, the availability of "napisy polskie" (Polish subtitles) or original Polish dialogue ensures that the authentic spirit of the story—rooted in Max’s specific world—remains intact while exploring universal themes of loyalty and the ethical implications of the technology that increasingly shapes our lives. The central narrative arc focuses on the deepening bond between the boy and his mechanical companion. This relationship serves as a modern retelling of the classic "boy and his dog" trope, updated for a generation defined by digital connectivity. Foxter is not merely a tool or a weapon; he acts as a catalyst for Max’s personal growth, helping the boy navigate the challenges of bullying and social isolation. The film balances lighthearted moments of discovery with the tension of an espionage thriller, as a dangerous criminal organization pursues the duo to seize the revolutionary nanotechnology. I'll probably maintain my fork still, but I'll probably get some queues from this, thanks!
Btw I'm not really doing anything for QuakeForge, just forking their initial code. I have my own roadmap for this, which might be more Hexen II focused.

Does this generate the bunch of QC code necessary to map frames? :D

Not Really

But thats a good idea. When exporting is done I might add that in eventually.

Alright, just in time for the Blender 2.82 export is done. Big thanks to @Khreator for giving a great insight into exporting issues.
List of features:
+ Export support
+ Support for importing/exporting multiple skins
+ Better scaling adjustments, eyeposition follows scale factor
This is still considered an alpha release. But it should be good enough.

for a long time now: Would it be possible to save a blender physics simulation as frame animated .mdl/.md3?

Enable MDD export addon. Export your simulation to MDD. Remove the sim from the object. Import MDD back into your object. You now have all of your sim frames as separate shape keys, ready to export to .mdl

Actually

Disregard that. It works fine without any of that extra voodoo, just export whatever straight to .mdl

Then let's think about practical use cases.
First think that comes to my mind are death animations, sagging bodies.
Explosion debrie might also work out.
I guess anything fluidic is out of question, like a tiling wave simulation anim.
What else comes to mind?

Flags, fire, chains, breaking doors, breaking walls, etc.
