Smith made her senior international debut for Scotland in 2014 during a World Cup qualification play-off against the Netherlands. Since then, she has earned more than 60 caps and represented her country in major tournaments, most notably the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France, which was Scotland's first appearance at the tournament.
