Suddenly, the screen went black. A single line of text appeared in neon green:

It began with a single notification. "mongoose.rar downloaded." I didn’t click it. I didn’t even search for it. But there it was, sitting on my desktop, pulsing with a low-res energy that seemed to vibrate the very plastic of my monitor. I tried to delete it. Access Denied. I tried to shred it.
