" Reef Blower " is the series' second segment and remains its shortest episode at just 2 minutes and 50 seconds.

"Help Wanted" serves as the series pilot, following SpongeBob's first attempt to secure his dream job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab.

The first episode of SpongeBob SquarePants , consisting of the segments "Help Wanted" and "Reef Blower" (alongside "Tea at the Treedome"), premiered on May 1, 1999, following the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
