Introduced in The Brave and the Bold #54 , the founding members were Robin (Dick Grayson), Kid Flash (Wally West), and Aqualad (Garth). They were soon joined by Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) and Speedy (Roy Harper).

Writers Marv Wolfman and George Pérez revitalized the team, introducing iconic new characters: Starfire , Cyborg , and Raven , while re-adding Beast Boy (then known as Changeling ).
