Neera encounters and befriends a wild black colt she names Shetan . The two form a deep bond, and Shetan eventually leads her back to her grandfather.
The story is set in North Africa during World War II. After being separated from her father during a desert raid, a young girl named (Biana Tamimi) is left alone in the vast desert.
