Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is a 2019/2021 action RPG from Nihon Falcom, serving as the ninth entry in the Ys series following adventurer Adol Christin. The story focuses on Adol being trapped in the prison city of Balduq and turned into a Monstrum, forcing him to explore the city and fight supernatural creatures called Grimwald Nox.
Featuring high-speed party combat, the game introduces unique exploration abilities for each of the six playable Monstrums, including wall running and gliding, within a vertical, gothic environment. It is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
